Marine Licence & PWC Endorsement Course

Online Course

This course is designed to assist you to gain the knowledge required to obtain your Victorian Marine Licence & PWC Endorsement.

This course covers:

  • Carry out trip preparation and planning

  • Safely operating a small mechanically powered vessel

  • Respond to boating emergencies and incidents

  • Personal Watercraft (PWC) Jetski

General Information

  • Course fee $120 for Marine Licence & PWC Endorsment (Boat & JetSki)

  • $70 for PWC only for persons that already hold a valid Victorian Marine Licence

  • Full payment via credit card is required on booking

  • Enrolments close 48 hours before course date and time

  • Once your enrolment is accepted and access to the online resources have been provided there is NO Refund availble for our Online Course

You will need to:

  • Have access to computer or device with a webcam and speaker

  • Have internet access to undertake the self paced study and attend the trainer led class and assessment

  • Have reasonable computer skills

  • Have or create a Private Google account to access the online class, we can assist you with guidance on how to set this up.  This means you will need to have a GMAIL email address.  This is easy to set up if you don't already have one.

  • Have a Current email address and phone number

  • Have legible ID which you will need to upload on enrolment and show to your trainer for verification during your course.

How the course is delivered

​

​Step 1

Pick your preferred course date and time and complete the online booking form.  Payment is required on booking.

You will receive an email with a link to our Course Enrolment Form.  Complete the enrolment form and upload your ID.  This should be done as soon as you book and at least 48 hours prior to your course.  You will then be contacted by our office to confirm that you have the necessary resources to complete the course.  Once this is confirmed you will be forwarded a invite to Google Classroom.  Please note, the time between booking and being confirmed and given access to google classroom can take up to 24 hours as these are manual processes.

Step 2

Access Google Classroom and watch the Trainer Led video content, Maritime Safety Videos and Practice Tests.  This takes approximately 3 hours to complete.

Step 3

Attend your class at the scheduled date and time via Google Meet which is a live online revision session with your trainer (approx. 60 minutes) followed by trainer supervised assessment.  The Assessment consists of a 30 question Multiple Choice test for the Marine Licence and and a 15 question Multiple Choice test for the PWC.   You will need to have your ID available for verification during this session.

Other important Information

 

CHANGES TO PWC ENDORSEMENT FOR RESTRICTED LICENCES COMMENCED 18TH DECEMBER 2017.  Persons aged under 16 years of age are not eligible to obtain a personal watercraft endorsement.  READ MORE

  • ID is required to attend the course.  Drivers licence or ID as per EVIDENCE OF ID list

  • Seaton Training emails customers information on products/services as well as boating safety news and updates.  Customers can opt out from receiving this correspondence at any time

  • Expired Marine Licences - If you held a Marine Licence and have let it expire, please check with VicRoads to see if they will Re-Issue your licence before enrolling to do this course.  If VicRoads will re-issue your expired licence, then you won't need to attend this training.

Assessment

  • Subject to successful assessment, a certificate (which is valid for 12 months) will be issued that can be used by eligible applicants to obtain a Marine Licence from VicRoads

Certificates

  • Maritime Safety Victoria Certificates are valid for 12 months from the course date and need to be produced at VicRoads and licensing fee paid before you operate a boat / pwc

  • On successful completion of your online course we will mail out your certificate.  Your certificate will be posted within 48 hours of your course completion, however the timeframe to receive your certificate will depend on Australia Post. Please ensure you allow time to receive your certificate as Australia Post delivery times may be lengthy leading up to Christmas. 

  • If you require a re-print of your certificate, please contact our office via email or phone to arrange. Certificates will only be re-issued if they are still valid (within 12 months of course date) and the cost for this service is $10.00 per re-print payable via credit card or direct deposit.  All re-prints will be posted within 2 business days of the request and payment being received.

How to get your licence after you successfully complete our course

  • Visit your closest VicRoads office along with the required ID and your Marine Licence Certificate

  • Licensing fees are payable to VicRoads to obtain your Marine Licence after successful completion of this course.
